Last week in Ant's Room, our toddler section for 2 - 3 year olds, we did a tie dye activity with the children. Our aim was to explore colours in a fun way, mixing them to see what results we get.
The children brought in their own t-shirts. We had to soak the t-shirts in salt water, then squeeze the excess water out and wrap the them in rubber bands to create different patterns and effects. They got to choose what colours they wanted and squirted them all over the t-shirts to create different colour blends.
The kids loved getting creative and using their own clothing - they were so excited to wear their colourful t-shirts!
They learnt the names of the colours, and got to see colour mixing in front of their very eyes.
