🐛🍃 Colourful Caterpillar Investigation 🎨

Today we enjoyed a lovely nature-based activity. We collected fresh leaves from our garden and explored tissue paper caterpillars that I had prepared. The children were full of excitement and curiosity, eager to discover what would happen!

Using pipettes, the children carefully dropped coloured water onto the caterpillars. They watched in amazement as the tissue absorbed the water, making the caterpillars expand and appear to move as the colours spread through them. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excited conversations as they observed the changes.

The children developed their fine motor skills, curiosity, and creativity through this exciting activity. 🐛🌈🍃

lets make Oranges Juice

Today we arranged a fun orange juice activity for the children as part of our summer learning. The children enjoyed squeezing the oranges, pouring the juice into their cups and mixing it together. They also practised their counting skills by counting the oranges they used during the activity. It was lovely to see their excitement, curiosity and confidence as they explored the activity, worked together and proudly made their own orange juice. This hands-on experience supported their fine motor skills, early mathematical development, communication and independence, while encouraging teamwork and creating lots of smiles throughout the session. 🍊💛

What a beautiful butterfly.

This morning, we organised cutting activities for the children. we began by giving them instructions on how to carefully cut the paper into small pieces using scissors and decorate the butterflies as they wished. This will help them focus on using their fine motor skills for this activity. While they were engaged in this task, we all discussed colours and the butterflies. They demonstrated excellent cutting skills, focus, hand-eye coordination, and patience. Once everything is dry, we will hang the butterflies in the garden. What a wonderful activity we’ve just completed! ❤️
